A true game of hockey for the Crusaders...
The "short bench" disease had hit the Crusaders again, but it was not going to be the deciding factor.  Next game we will be closer to an entire roster of skaters.

The Wingham Ironmen came to Brussels for our second game against them.  We fell short on goals last time, but turned it around completely to come through with a win of 5 to 1.  Jarron Thompson protected the net with some keen saves.  He seems to never get rattled and is always supportive of the skaters in front of him.

Who scored our goals you ask??  Well that is simple....4/5 go under Logan Finlayson's stats.  His first point was scored with approximately 5 mins left in the first period, he took a pass from Jeff Gordon and started the goal scoring rhythm.  With only 43 seconds remaining in that period, he gave his team an unassisted goal, to give us some breathing room on the score board.  The only goal scored in the second period for our team, was Logan unassisted at a time of 9:27.

Going into the third period it was a match that could still go either way.  BBMHA 3 vs Ironmen 1.  Much of the period was played at this score.  With 4 minutes left in this last period, Logan took a "beauty" pass from Brock Weber, giving us our 4th point.  Not to stop there, Brett Glousher took advantage of a loose puck and open net thus adding our last and fifth goal of the game.  Drew Van Wyk and Logan assisted in this victory.

BBMHA had 8 skaters and 1 goalie.  Spirits were wishy washy pregame...we have had trouble with this team before and it could go either way.  It was a great game to watch, the passing was right on and constant.  No one was going to dominate the puck, but rather make the best decisions for the entire team.  Penalties were not an option and the boys proved it by only working off 6 minutes of box time.  I can tell you as a manager and "den mom" for this team, I was VERY proud of the team work, attitude and focus on this game.  Everyone of those boys worked hard and smart on the ice.

GREAT WORK BOYS!!!

We are back on the ice this Monday, February 22nd in Blyth at 7:30 pm against Lucknow.
