Finally in the latter half of the third period Brock McLean from Wyatt Carey and Brody Ten Pas put one past the Belmont keeper to make it 1-0. This goal seemed to spur on the talented team from Belmont as they continued to push for the equalizer. With minutes left in the game they continued to pound the Crusaders net but the Crusaders Nathan Watson was more than equal to the task, he was exceptional.

The Crusaders did not change what had been their excellent play all game of their own opportunities on net, speedy forechecking, responsible backchecking and solid defence. A few missed chances with the Belmont goaltender pulled certainly added extra drama to the game and with less than a minute left the Crusaders found themselves in a 6 on 4 situation. The anxious crowd watched as Belmont had a few last chances to put the game into overtime but the Crusaders shut them down.

The win in game #3 gave the Crusaders 2 points in the race to 6 points for the Ontario Championship (Crusaders lead 4 points to 2). Game #4 is on Sunday, March 24th in Belmont. Come out and cheer on your Crusaders.
