A Tie and a Loss, it Happens
The Blyth Brussels Bantam LL Burgundy had 2 games this weekend.
Saturday night saw them in Mount Forest. With lots of passing and plays, it wasn't until the second period before Mount Forest scored twice to take a 2-0 lead heading in to the third. A pep talk was what the kids needed going into the third, and it worked. The game ended in a 2-2 tie with goals coming in from Nic Zwep and Ben Newell. Solid on the defence were Curt Weber, Newell, and Cameron Gauthier. Assisting them were Dean Scarrow and Dawson Peachey.
Sunday saw the guys on home ice against the BCH Ice Dogs. The first period was spent sending the puck from one end to the other, repeatedly. The second period saw the puck mainly in our end, with just 2 goals for BCH. In the third period, Newell was able to pop one in their net. The game ended 3-1 for BCH. Hats off to the defence and goalie, Derrick Waechter, for saving countless shots, including 6 without his stick.
Their season record is 11-9-2.
