Peewee AE's Come up Short in Blyth Home Opener
The Peewee AE's showed sparks but couldn't light the fire as Elma Logan came to town in this weeks Blyth home opener.

Elma Logan started on the offensive scoring just a little over 2 minutes into the first frame.

It would be until nearly the end of the second period before either team would score. With 31 seconds left in the second, big Ben Newell would skate end to end with the puck putting a shot on net and having the quick Andrew Van Wyk slide home the rebound. Just 9 seconds later Nolan Johnston would pick up a Craig Raynard rebound and hoist it over the Elma Logan goalie taking a 2-1 lead that was very short lived. Elma Logan would carry the puck from the faceoff and score with 15 seconds left in the 2nd, tying the game.

The visitors would come out and score two to start the third to take a 2 goal lead, but at 9:32 in the third, Van Wyk would net his 2nd of the game, snapping one past the goalie assisted by Carson Richmond bringing them back within one. Elma Logan would score once more in the remaining minutes to shut the home team down.

Final score was 5-3 for the visitors. Next game 7:30 Wednesday in Blyth.
