Home Opener Not in Favour
The Blyth Brussels Midget Girls hosted their home opener on Monday, November 7, 2011 against the Mildmay Monarchs. The 1st period was an even match with both teams sending the puck down the ice. With great goaltending by Justine Reid it wasn't until late in the second period that the Monarchs put one up on the board.
By the end of the second period it was 2-0 for Mildmay. The girls headed out at the beginning of the 3rd with a lot of determination and support from their fans. The Monarchs got another 2 goals half way through the 3rd period to make it 4-0. Heidi Raynard put one on the board late in the 3rd, which was assisted by Lauren Cronin.
The girls finished the game as a 4-1 win for Mildmay.
