Peewee LL "C" Champs!!
The Peewee LL team travelled to Durham on Sunday for a tournament. They gave the spectators a thrilling time. First game was against Collingwood. We were the first to score with a nice shot from Wyatt. Collingwood evened the score in the 2nd but Damon scored with a pass from Cody for a brief lead, with Collingwood tieing it up again. The boys went into a 5 minute sudden-death overtime with no score from either team.
For the shoot out they went with 3 shooters: Wyatt scores, Collingwood evens it; Cody scores, Collingwood evens it again. Second shoot out: Hudson scores, but Collingwood gets 2.
Game 2 was against Normanby and was another action filled game! The boys scored 3 goals all in the first period, with Normanby getting 1 goal. Wyatt scored 2 with awesome slap shots from the blue line with assists from Dylan, Hudson, Brock, and Cody. Cody gets a nice pass from Dylan and puts it nicely into the net. Second period sees no scores from either team but awesome defense from Dylan, Jeff, Hudson and Evan. And our goalie, Derrick, all but standing on his head. Normanby gets 2 goals in the 3rd period to tie it up. Overtime, they go again with no scoring. Another shoot out, Normanby scores first and then misses, we miss twice, then Cody puts one in to tie it up. We go to a second shoot out again. It ends with Derrick holding the competition off till Hudson, with a nice deke, shot into the net for the win!
Game 3 is the "C" final against Durham. It was a rough start, with our goalie Derrick getting slammed into the goal post. Durham scores 2 goals early in the period, but only briefly as Joseph was soon to put one in the net with a pass from Brock and Dean. Durham gets another one in the 2nd period. It's 3-1. But, the boys came out strong in the third. Cody scores with a pass from Mason. Damen scores with a pass from Wyatt to tie again! Into overtime again! But, the boys didn't waste time, with Derrick holding off the other team, even tough he's hurt, and a nice screening from Cameron, Joseph puts one into the net to Win the "C" final.
Way to go boys!! You all played, a very hard, well played 3 games of hockey! Keep up the good work! Thanks for a great day of hockey!!
