Atom Rep Finish Regular Season on Top
The Atom Reps finished off their regular season on top with an impressive 11-2-1. To keep the team fresh, the South Huron Sabres came for an exhibition game on December 29th in Blyth.
Both teams battled end for end for the first period with noone making it on the scoreboard. Then, early in the second period Colin Howson set up Bailey Bos for the first goal. Bos came back again to score and finish the period with a 2-0 lead. The Sabres continued to battle throughout the third, but Spencer Lazarevich held onto the shutout yet again. What a great way for the team to finish 2011.
For the start of 2012 the Reps traveled to Goderich for another exhibition game. The Sailors managed to pop two past Lazarevich in the first, but with less than a minute left Ted Jacklin pushed one through to Alex Coultes who put it in the back of the net.
Mitch McNichol started off the scoring in the second period with a pass from Ethan Scrimgeour. Howson and McNichol then set up Scrimgeour to pull ahead of the Sailors. Scrimgeour came back strong again in the third period netting 2 more with the assistance of Howson and McNichol. Final score was 5-2 for the Reps.
The Atom Reps will be traveling to Durham for a tournament with their first game scheduled for Saturday morning against Kincardine. Lets keep the streak going team!
