Home Opener for the Midget Bulldogs
On Halloween night the Blyth Midget Rep Bulldogs hosted Howick in their season home opener. At 12:22 of the first, the dogs would hit the twine when Adam Cousins found the mark, assisted by Eric Dwyer.
Two and a half minutes later, Matt Chalmers would widen the score by two with an unassisted goal. With just over two minutes left in the first, Shea McLean would hit the net, assisted by Chalmers and Jeremy Ross.
The second period had both teams keeping the penalty box warm. With only 18.3 seconds left in the second, Kody Higgins would put one more on the scoreboard for the dogs with an unassisted goal.
Blyth would get one more in the third at 10:01, when an unassisted goal was scored by Austin Sjaarda. Howick continued to apply pressure throughout the game. Final score 5 - 0 for the home team. Ryan Baker played an excellent game to earn the shut out.
Way to go dogs.
