Home Opener
Monday night was the home game opener for the Midget LL team. Blyth opened the scoring with Ryan Sjaarda finding the back of the net, set up by two outstanding passes from Austin Sjaarda and Nathan Plunkett. Tyler Stevenson then blew one by the Walkerton goalie with assists from Ben Pletch and Connor Prescott. One more goal from Kevin Pennington unassisted would end the first.
The second would find many players in the penalty box and Walkerton would add two goals to the game. Blyth fired back with two goals from Stevenson with assists to Rob Hoftzer and Pletch.
The third period the Blyth squad shut down the Walkerton squad and racked up four more goals coming from Steven Ellis, Stevenson, Austin Sjaarda and Plunkett with some more outstanding assists from Eric Dwyer, Pennington, Pletch and two for Prescott. Kennan MacDonald had another solid performance in the net for the dogs. Great team performance from all.
