Atom Rep Win Zurich Tourney
Christmas season was very joyous for the Atom rep team as they played in the Zurich Thunder tourney. The Dogs were more in the mood for receiving than giving on December 27-28th!!

Their first game was against the Milverton Drives and the game started off a little sluggish as if both teams had had too much turkey. The Dogs started the scoring half way through the first period only to see the Milverton team come right back to tie it seconds later.  After trading goals for the first and second periods the Dogs broke it open in the 3rd period and held on for a hard fought 6-3 win.

The second game was played later that afternoon and was against a very tough Strathroy team.  Blyth opened the scoring in the second period only to have Strathroy come back and tie it a few minutes later.  It was end to end action with neither team being able to beat each other's goalies and we had to settle for the tie.

Due to point totals the Bulldogs got the nod to go to the A finals where they would meet Tavistock.
Excited to be in the A finals the Dogs came out hard and fast as they again opened the scoring in the first period.  Leading 1-0 after the first period the Tavistock team came back to tie it in the 2nd.  Entering the 3rd period, both teams had played very well going back and forth unable to beat either goalie. Early in the 3rd period the Dogs regained the lead after Parker Gibbings second goal of the game only to have Tavistock come back to tie it once again.  The Dogs replied seconds later on the hat trick from Parker and the team hung on for a well deserved A championship win!!  Final score 3-2.

The Dogs continued their great play as they traveled to Goderich where they found themselves down 3-0 going into the 3rd period against a strong Goderich team and came back to earn a hard fought 3-3 tie.

The first game of 2011 went just like the last few of 2010 as the Bulldogs played BCH whom they are tied for in the WOAA standings.  The team played an aspiring game and came out on top 6-3.

The coaching staff is very proud of the way the team has played and look forward to a strong run in the upcoming playoffs.
