Peewee Girls Battle Mildmay
The Blyth-Brussels Peewee girls traveled to Mildmay on Saturday, December 12th in a showdown for 1st place in our WOAA league.  The first game of the season with the Monarchs ended in a 3-3 tie.

The home team carried the play for large parts of the first period.  Late in the first, the defence pair of Faith Sebastian and Autumn Wightman gained control and got the puck ahead to Mackenzie Nesbitt, who broke free down the right side and fired a good shot to beat the Mildmay goalie to grab the early lead.  Midway through the second period the Monarchs would even the score.  Early in the third a scramble around the Mildmay net would see Leanne Plunkett score with assists to linemates Nesbitt and Emma Strome.  The home team pulled their goalie with a minute to go and our girls held their ground for the 2-1 victory.
