Peewee Girls Play Twice
The Blyth-Brussels Peewee girls got their season started off with games against BCH in Clinton, and in Blyth versus the Upper Maitland Mustangs.

The season opener was in Clinton against a young BCH squad on October 19th.  The visitors got off to a quick start and cruised to an 11-0 win.  Goal scorers were: Mackenzie Nesbitt (4), Ashley Higgins (3), with singles going to Taylor Higgins, Leanne Plunkett, Emma Strome and Emily Mitchell.  Lindsay Shiell and Carlie Ducharme split the duties in net for the shutout.

The next game was against the Upper Maitland Mustangs (Howick/Wallace) in Blyth on October 24th.  Autumn Wightman and Ashley Higgins combined for the first goal against a surprised Mustang goalie.  Nesbitt would add another early in the second period, with the assist going to Ashley Stevenson.  The Mustangs got a goal right off the face off late in the second period.  After the intermission to clean the ice, the home team settled in to protect the lead in the third, but surrendered the tying goal with 2 minutes left in the game.  Final score was 2-2.
