Atom LL Play in Walkerton Tournament
First game for the Bulldogs was played against a tough Lucknow team.  Both teams started out slowly, testing each other on a few chances, both goalies held the game scoreless until Lucknow scored with about 3 minutes to play in the 3rd period.

Blyth would keep playing their game and challenging the Lucknow team.  Blyth had just pulled the goalie for an extra attacker and we took the first penalty of game with a 1.10 left to go.  Blyth would go down one skater to start the next shift.  Once we cleared the puck from our end, we pulled the goalie again to increase our chances, Owen Andrews would fire home our first goal of the game to tie it at one, with 40 seconds to play.  The end of the period would come with no change in the score.  We headed to the shootout to decide the winner.  Blyth would send in 3 shooters, Andrews, Drew Van Wyk and Carson Richmond.  We would score 2 and just miss the net on the 3rd one.  Blyth's goalie, Franklin Marshall, would stop all 3 Lucknow shooter's for the win.  Great game boys, it was a full team effort.

Going into the second game Blyth Atom LL would play Walkerton Prestige. The first period was much the same as the first game 0-0, then at 2.21 left on the clock Walkerton scored.  With 43.7 left on the clock Andrews scored lone handed.  Period 2 Walkerton scored 6 seconds into the frame.  Blyth did not like this and Richmond tied the game up at 7.23, followed by another Andrews assisted by Cameron Gauthier at 4.23.  Period 3 had a lot of back and forth action.  Finally, at 4.17 left Van Wyk scored with an assist to Andrews, Walkerton added another goal. Blyth not being outdone, Evan Plunkett hustled down the ice to score an empty netter to complete the game scoring with 10 seconds left. Goalie, Jeremy Wilts played another great game in net for his team.  Off to the final game.

After getting a one hour break, the Bulldogs were back on the ice against the other Walkerton team.  Blyth played hard, but fell behind early and couldn't complete the comeback.  Walkerton scored 1 in the 1st, and another in the 2nd.  The 3rd period saw Richmond and Van Wyk team up for a goal to get us back in the game, but we couldn't find the net again.  Walkerton would add an empty netter to complete the scoring.

Great tournament boys, you all played hard and the coaches are completely proud of your effort.  Not all players  get credit on the game sheet, but you all deserve to be mentioned in this article as follows:  Completing the team list are; Josh Gibbons, Brock Weber, Damon Allen, Mason Campbell and Jeff Gordon.  We Play as a Team , We Win as a Team, We Lose as a Team.
