Blyth-Brussels Bantam Girls Win Silver at Waterloo Challenge
The Bantam girls played very well  in the Waterloo Fall Challenge Cup tournament this past weekend running from November 6-8.

The girls played 2 games on Friday, November 6.  The first match was against North York with a 6-1 win. The girls played amazing. The next game was Friday night against the Upper Maitland Mustangs, with the girls not playing their best but managing a 1-1 tie.  After a good nights sleep they were ready to go Saturday morning but couldn't pull off the win losing 3-2 against Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The girls were still in the running for medals even with the loss and ended up playing Sunday morning against  a tough Timmins' team who had not lost all weekend. That is until we faced them. The girls played their hearts out and the parents were on the edge of their seats with a 3-2 win, which guaranteed them a medal of silver or gold.  Justine Reid, our goalie, played awesome and was the MVP for the game.

Our final game was against Lambeth and was an exciting one as well. We scored the first goal early in the game, but Lambeth was a very strong team that had not been scored on all weekend, and they were not about to let us win this game. They managed to score 2 goals against us and late in the 3rd period we pulled our goalie to try and tie it up, but we just couldn't pull it off.  Lambeth scored on the empty net making the final score 3-1 giving us the silver medal which we are all very proud of.  Heidi Raynard received the MVP for this game for her very hard work.

The parents will all agree that the girls and the coaching staff did an excellent job this weekend and they had alot of fun as well.
