The Bulldogs were snarling and ready to begin playoffs
After a very successful season we earned our spot in the top grouping of our Local League playoffs.  We knew it would be tough, but we were eager to get going.

Our first game put us up against Drayton.  We found out why they are called the Defenders.  Our team outplayed Drayton throughout the entire game with only one goal to show for it.  Unfortunately they popped in 3 to defeat us.  The loss was disappointing, but we knew we played our personal best and felt good about the team.
We set off to see if we could dim the Seaforth Stars.  Having played well in Drayton I thought that was as good as it gets.  Boy was I wrong.  The boys came out flying in Seaforth and again dominated the play from the middle of the 1st 'til the final buzzer went.  Again scoring only 1 goal.  Unfortunately Seaforth scored 2 to defeat us.  We felt very good about this game as we improved again.  Seaforth had punished us in the regular season, so this game felt like a win.  This game saw us pull the goalie in the final minues of the game.  In all my years of coaching I have never seen a group of kids this age play so well with the goalie out.  We buzzed the net and scared the goalie several times, only to score the once.
Our toughest rival all year was BCH.  We had to face them at home.  For some reason we came out flat and could never recover.  Losing 5 to 1.  We didn't play bad, we just couldn't score.
THERE SEEMS TO BE A COMON THEME HERE !!  NO LUCK SCORING.
We lost again to the other BCH team, 6 to 0.  Again no scoring.  We played better than the score indicates.
With no luck scoring we got a chance to play Drayton at home.
Our luck was about to change.  The boys came out like it was the 7th game of the Stanley Cup.  They dominated this game from start to finish.  If Drayton touched the puck, Blyth was all over them to get it back.  If Blyth had the puck, we had our heads up and passed to our own player and proceeded for scoring chances.
Drayton only got 6 or 7 shots all game.  Our defense played like they were on a special mission.  Drayton didn't get a single shot from the home plate position on the ice.  Once we started scoring in this game we didn't stop.
Defeating Drayton 5 to 1.  This was the team I expected to see.  What a marvelous performance for the team and our fans.
Last night we played in BCH and lost 2 to 0.  No luck scoring again.  I don't know about you, but it seems quite difficult to win without scoring.  We played a very solid game against BCH and gave them quite a scare.  Our chances were foiled by their big goalie every time.  I think our luck was changed in this game because the fans decided to sit on the opposite side of the arena from where they usually sit.  Thanks fans.  Unfortunately we couldn't post a victory for them.
Tonight we take on the other BCH team and hope for a positive result.
I will say this about our group of players.  They make an awesome team.  Their never say die attitude and hearts as big as all outdoors makes this a fun group to watch and a difficult team to play against.
GREAT EFFORT GUYS -- THE COACHING STAFF AND FANS ARE VERY PROUD OF YOU.
As a note for our team and their parents;
Coach Glenn was told by a referee in Minto that we had a very good, heads up and smart hockey team.
Juat thought you would like to know -- coming from someone who officiates a lot of hockey.
Thanks
Coach Rob
