Bantam Girls Head to Walkerton
The Blyth/Brussels Bantam girls headed to Walkerton for their second exhibition match up against a gritty opponent.
The game had a late start but the girls were ready to play hard when the puck dropped. End to end action kept the girls on their toes but Walkerton closed out the first with the only goal of the period.
The Blyth/Brussels girls didn’t give up and tied up the game in the second when Nicole Middegaal bounced one in off her skate. The back and forth action kept going into the third with strong goaltending by Justine Reid, when Courtney Middegaal skated down the left side and shot the puck in past the Walkerton goalie to put the girls ahead by one.
Blyth/Brussels walked away with a 2-1 win.
