Peewee Rep Win Top Honors in 60th Annual YCW
The Peewee Rep brought home the banner and trophy from the Goderich Lion's 60th Annual Young Canada Week Peewee Tournament.



Game 1 was played Tuesday, March 17 at 9:00 AM against Teeswater. The Blyth squad was able to win in overtime with a 3-2 victory. Scoring for Blyth was Spencer Stevenson for 2, and Mike VanWyk with the game winner in OT. The assists were by Arden Coultes, Matt VanWyk each for 2, and 1 each for Dustin Pennington, Mike VanWyk & Ryan Nesbitt.  In Net for Blyth was Dalton Carey.

Game 2 was played Tuesday, March 17 at 4:00 PM against Elma Logan. The Blyth squad showed up to play winning the game 9 to 0. In net was Dalton Carey earning his 8th shut out of the season.  Scoring for the Blyth squad was as follows: Mike VanWyk for 4, and Matt VanWyk, Arden Coultes, Ryan Nesbitt and Trystan Weber all for 1 each. Looking at the score sheet everybody including Dalton got an assist.

Game 3 - Semi-final was played Thursday, March 19 at 3:30 PM against Brussels. The Blyth boys won with a 6-1 final score. Scoring for Blyth was Mike VanWyk with a hat trick, Matt VanWyk, Ryan Nesbitt, and Dustin Pennington, each for 1. Assiting on the above goals were Braydon Whitfield for 4, Ryan Nesbitt for 3, Matt VanWyk for 2, and Arden Coultes for 1.

Game 4 - Final was played Saturday, March 21 at 3:00 PM against Thamesford. The Blyth squad won the game 4-3 winning the "D" Division of the tournament. The boys were extremely excited. After the trophy and banner presentation the team was called back up to receive the trophy and banner for the Sportsman Team for 2009.

The Dogs continue to play Wingham and Shallow Lake in a round robin group playdown.
