Peewee Rep are WOAA Champs
The Dogs travelled to Drayton for game 3 of the series, as Scott lost the coin toss (well, not really but that sounds better).

With the Atom Rep team playing before us, Blyth’s crowd was larger than the home teams' and likely just as loud. The boys did not disappoint as they played well from the drop of the puck until the final buzzer. Dustin Pennington got the Dogs on the scoreboard mid-way through the second on an assist from Braydon Whitfield. In the closing minutes of the first Mike VanWyk got our second goal assisted by Trystan Weber.

So, starting the second we were ahead 2 to 0. Early into the second Mike continued where he left off in the first, and got his second goal of the game assisted by Josh VanSoest. Drayton was determined not to be held off the score board and slid one by Blyth’s goalie, Dalton Carey, in the last few minutes of the second, the one and only goal that they would get by.

Going into the dressing room for Scott’s inspirational speech between the second and third, Blyth was ahead 3 to 1. For the majority of the third the Dogs played a more defensive style game not wanting Drayton to get too many odd man rushes. The Dogs were able to force Drayton to pull their goalie with a minute and a half to go, and put out the extra attacker. With a quick pass up the boards from Wyatt Carey to Spencer Stevenson, who in turn buried the puck in the empty net with 8.4 seconds left on the clock, the Dogs had taken all the wind out of Drayton’s sails.

On behalf of the team the Dog’s Captain, Spencer Stevenson, accepted the WOAA trophy. The boys all gathered for a picture and then were off.  The Peewee's now move on to the OMHA quarter finals.  Their opponent has not yet been determined.   Great job Dogs!
