Gibbings Leads Team with 5 Goal Game
Blyth hosts Zurich, and travels to Monkton.
Blyth Novice Bulldogs played Zurich on Saturday. Leading them for the team was Parker Gibbings, scoring 5 goals and assisting on another. Also, scoring for Blyth was Andrew VanWyk, Ethan Coultes, and Tanner Bovin. Assists went to Damon Allen with 3, and Carson Richmond. Strong goaltending by Jacob Gulutzen earned the win, with a final score of 8-1.
Blyth then headed to Monkton on Saturday to play Elma Logan. Blyth took the lead in the first with a goal by Jared Shearer, with help from VanWyk and Mitch McNichol. Elma Logan would then tie it up and score a couple more, before Blyth would score again in the 3rd with a goal from Richmond, and assists from VanWyk and Michaela Rodger. Colin Howson left the game early with a minor injury, but will be back for the next game.
