Novice in Aaran-Elderslie Tournament
Novice win first game of Aaran-Elderslie tournament in a shootout.

The Bulldogs travelled to Paisley today to participate in this Novice tournament. Blyth would first play the Mildmay team. Mildmay would take the lead early in the first with a goal, then followed up with two more in the second before the Dogs would start their comeback. Bailey Bos would knock home a rebound from Damon Allen and Parker Gibbings, then about a minute later Gibbings would fire home a goal with assists going to Allen and Bos. Finally with about a minute left in the second, Allen would score to tie the game helped out by Bos, and Carson Richmond. The game continued into the third with several chances by both teams, all being denied by the goaltenders. The game ended in a tie at 3 apiece. This game would be decided by a shootout. Blyth's first two shooters (Allen and Gibbings) would be stopped by the Mildmay goalie and the Bulldog goalie, Jacob Gulutzen, would stone the Mildmay shooters. The third shooters would take their spot and head down the ice, Blyth's Jared Shearer waited on the goalie before making his move and firing the puck into the net, Gulutzen would wait on Mildmay, and shut him down. Blyth wins the shootout. MVP for the game selected by the tournament committee was goalie, Jacob Gulutzen.

Blyth would then wait until 3:00 PM to play their next game against Owen Sound. Blyth worked hard, but were overmatched against a good Owen Sound team. Owen Sound started the scoring in the first going up by 2 before Bulldog, Jared Shearer, scored our first, assisted by Drew VanWyk and Parker Gibbings.  Owen Sound would then add several more before Blyth would score again by Gibbings, assisted by VanWyk. Blyth's MVP of this game was Jared Shearer.
