Game 2
The Tyke Jr. Bulldogs travelled to Milverton to have their second game of the season and their first away game.  Everyone was very excited to be in the opponent's barn for a game.  The team was short staffed for the game but played with much determination and grit.

Milverton was another highly skilled and fast team for us to challenge.  They got up to a quick 2 to 0 score before we could get our game legs under us.  But once we found our game we were off to the races.  Unfortunately we found ourselves down 3 to 0 by the half way point of the game.
The Milverton team buzzed our net vigorously for the first half of the match, but our stellar goal keeping from Luc Townsend and Emily Rodger kept the score down.
At this point Michaela Rodger took control of our team and lead us to our first goal of the season.  Assists went to Tanner Boven and Kelden Pawitch.
We gained momentum from this goal and buzzed the Milverton goalie, sending several shots his way which were turned aside.  Snowden Renaud and Zack Walden teamed up for several chances to score but were denied each time.  It was just a matter of time until we put one home.
The next shift saw Clarissa Gordon pick up a nice pass from Emily Rodger.  Clarissa stick handled past one opponent and spied Michaela Rodger in the clear.  The pass was tape to tape and Michaela was on a breakaway.  She put a great move on the goalie and slipped in a backhander.
This made the score 3 to 2 for Milverton and Blyth had the momentum.  This put some life into the Milverton squad who bounced back with 2 quick goals near the final 2 minutes of the match to regain a 3 goal advantage.
Despite further shots and hard work by out team we could not score again and Milverton took the victory.
I am very proud of the skill development and effort our team has shown this season.
Thank you to our trainer Tracy Rodger and a special thanks to our fans for their support.
We are eagerly awaiting the next game to play so we can show everyone our great hockey skills.
Thanks
Coach Rob
