Bantam's Begin Playoffs
The Bantam bulldogs took to the ice on Sunday January 13th in Ripley to begin this season's playoff run. After a scoreless first period, Blyth made it on the board in the second. The first goal was scored by Ryan Sjaarda, assisted by Tyler Stevenson and Adam Cronin. Then 4.5 minutes later Matt Chalmers scored an unassisted goal.
With just about 2 minutes left in the first Ripley would get their first and then tie the game with 5:39 left in the third. Our Bantam dogs kept the pressure on. Many posts were hit during the game. With 0.01 seconds left in the game our dogs would find the net for the final time. Scoring for Blyth was Tyler Stevenson, assisted by Adam Cronin. The coaching staff were glad that this nail biter was over!
Blyth was sucessful at winning the flip. Game 2 is in Blyth on Wednesday, January 16th at 7:30pm. Game 3 will be in Blyth Monday, January 21st at 9:00pm.
